back seat driver post mortem of GP12

While the Italian media keep throwing gasoline on Rossi/Ducati, I though it was more constructive and entertaining running something by the community. So if you look at the time sheets from the first race, the GP12 occupies three out of the top five position for top speed. So....the speed is there. If you look at Vale's times towards the end of the race, he was matching what the top three were doing mid-race. So....the bike *can* do the times. Both Nicky and Vale complained of chatter entering turns with *fresh* tires. Once the tires worn out, the lap times goes up, the chatter goes away. To me this suggests that the GP12 needs some adjustment on the slippery clutch/electronics so that the rear tire stop "pushing" the front into the turns, generating chatter and resistance to enter the turn. IF I am even remotely close to what is happening, I think we might be very pleasantly surprised in two weeks time and, maybe, that is why Nicky is actually so excited? He gets it?

Unfortunately I can't disagree, the results are not there. That is why is somewhat hopeful to see Nicky being able to use the top speed to keep others behind. It's not enough but hopefully it is a step in the right direction.
I still having faith on both too.... !!! Like in a marriage, the easier thing to do is braking up, but the wiser ones always look to solve the problems.
