To be honest Chris, I would start at low $5K's and work with him from there, KBB has this bike around $5500 I believe, though the termis certainly add value. These bikes don't come with a red key btw, only newer models (749/999era) have a red key. If he only has one spare key, go make at least 2 copes of it right away at a local locksmith, Lowes/Home Depot don't have the capability. Make sure to check all the instruments over and ensure they are working properly. I picked up my bike for $4200, but it was bone stock and needed new tires and I also threw on a new exhaust and performance chip.
I hate to beat a dead horse here, but what do you guys feel a good price on the bike would be? It's got termis and a power commander, no service records, no red key,and what appears to be a stock steering dampener?
Thank you
I have an 02 and have really been enjoying it! Picked mine up in March. Make sure to check the condition of the instruments and fuel indicator, they can be temperament.
