Bike looks good. But a fashion label on your motorbike? Really? I could almost see it if it were a protection company like Dianese. Even still, no thanks. But an apparel-only label??

"You ever read about the Kawasaki KLR650-based turbo diesel motorcycles for the US Army? (95bhp/top speed of 225kmh/100 MPG). I'd love some thing like that with Monster style." Yes, an article appeared on it but it wasn't going to me mass produced.... Why not?

I got these email from Ducati titled "Monster Diesel" and got all excited ...for about a minute. I thought they made a diesel powered Monster that got some ridiculously high MPG! But sadly no. It's just a green bike and a sells pitch for another euro clothing line for the wannabe crowd. :-/
Quoted from: kurtfriedrich - "i prefer to ducati distinguish itself with performance and race wins, as in the past. this wave of fashion branding takes the company a long way from its roots, and in my opinion, that's bad."
Ducati has and does distinguish itself in everything it undertakes. I think we would agree that Ducati is a very capable company, able to excell in everyway, including making visually exciting motorcycles. The first thing that attracted me to Ducati motorcycles was their astonishing good looks.
As far as 'roots', recall Ducati began by making motorized bicycles in 1946...
Quoted from: Jason1100EVO - "i apologize if that came across a little too harsh, it was meant more as sarcastic humor. i do enjoy this bike, but i'm not a fan of the marketing behind it."
I really thought a premier high tech diesel common rail turbocharged bike was what you were talking about ....but then I realized it was a fashion statement. Why not a modern high tech torquey diesel bike? Only Kawi makes a diesel military bike.

You are sooooo damn right. A few weeks ago I was starting to look at the bike Iwas going to buy. My choice was between the 1100 evo and the guzzi griso SE.
The diesel loose a bit of the ducatis feel and look more like a griso... Don t get me wrong, the bike is awesome but not worth it for me.
Please don't build a "Coco chanel Monster" or a "Armani Panigale"
^ good point. its still sick. good thing this wasnt out last year it would've made my decision to get the diavel really tough. I still would've went with the diavel but 1 of these on the side would be awesome! ;-)

One question! Why would the front caliper be changed and the rear left silver. Rather off putting if you ask me. I just noticed it and I cant get my eyes off it.
If you want one, you should get down to your local dealer and let them know. There will be a limited number produced and projected date for deliveries to start in the US is late July.

Can someone explain this comment to me? I don't get it...

Yes it did look like maybe a small Diesel engine motorcycle, and knew of one custom one someone build in Europe, but it wasn't a new engine...

Same for me and I am 100% sur that hey are the best motorcycle makers in the world.
Look, performance, technology...all this in a such pretty thing :D

Understood Jason. Thanks.
My age ^^

My goodness, so much anger, so little tolerance.
So if you're into race bikes, why are you looking at an 1100 evo or a Guzzi??

+1...we got WSBK last year and Checa is looking good again, but MotoGP Rossi/Hayden need it badly this year...
The Diavel is sleek and bad ass looking and now it seems there isn't just one great Duke to get but many different options.... :)

I will take a yellow one, spend to much time in matt olive green vehicles in my past.
Once again Ducati hits the mark. This is a very desirable and possibly necessary (for me) motorcycle. Ducati designers and engineers are amazing!
That is absolutely the coolest Monster EVER - I want one!
Remarkably, at first glance it looks like the Monster with Monster torque :) Well done design analogy for behind the scenes!
Really love it!! Great looks!!
madonna e bellissima lo scarico e spettacolare... :D hi love
One of the best looking new-gen Monsters yet. Love the blacked out look!
I just love that seat. Tremendous look!
Very nice and clean!
