The claimed CCA on these seem high, much higher than acid or gel batteries, I'm hoping to "cure" my 1198 of her labored sounding turn over that has been present since I purchased her with 10 miles on the odometer. Not only does it sound like shit but I'm sure it isn't the best for the starter motor. -

They are the real deal. I prefer Ballistic batteries (LiFePO4) over Shorai, but it depends what you want it for. Shoari has more capacity (for similar size/weight) while Ballistic has more cranking amps. A 12 cell Ballistic, which is what you'd use in the 1198, has 275 CCA and weighs in at only 1.81 lbs. The suggested Shorai is 210 CCA and 1.83 lbs. Both will start your bike, but Ballistic will do it easier. If you use accessories like heated grips, GPS, etc... that need additional power then Shoari might be a better choice as it has more capacity.
