    Holy cow.... Really cool
  • RentaDucati 12 months ago

Really dig the minimalist instrumentation and the graphics!

    Add a chin fairing and you have a mini-Di (avel). ; >)

  • Arrick 12 months ago

Really like the instrument panels. Nice work.

  • mspencer23 12 months ago

    sick!!!

  • Stefano 12 months ago

    This is very nice indeed!

  • farewarning 12 months ago

instrument panels are down right ridiculous...

  • BellissiMoto 12 months ago

Glad we could help Ryan, I'll admit to having a few doubts about how projects like this will end up, but you pulled this off beautifully.

Here's to a ridiculously good job buddy!

    :)

  • Desmomaniac 12 months ago

The bike looks pretty cool but how does it feels in corners?

Love the exhaust...would love to hear a sound clip....

Thanks everybody for the love so far!!

  • Author
    ryandanger 12 months ago

As for corning well its corners just fine but not like the original Monster or my 848. Its a very smooth ride still.

I built this to have best of both worlds...bridge the gap between the sport bike community and the cruiser/chopper community if that makes any sense.

I will post a sound clip as soon as i can get one.

  • Desmomaniac 12 months ago

    Thanks Ryan.

The sound must be insane with those shorties though... :)

  • Author
    ryandanger 12 months ago

Desmomaniac - The sound is insane!!!!...the pipes are there for looks pretty much. They function as a great tire warmer :) I have no regrets for requesting that there be no baffles. It does over power my headphones for music and after about an hour driving you have lost your hearing completely by i wouldnt trade it for any other sound on this particular bike build. I truly love pulling up next to the harley/chopper riders and just cranking it to redline just to let them know that Ducati's can play too in that lifestyle.

  • Desmomaniac 12 months ago

I truly believe ya Ryan...can't wait for the clip...

  • Author
    ryandanger 12 months ago

I posted the sound clip as promised...its from my iphone so its not the best but im sure it will do for now. Enjoy :)

Made a parts order to finish up some more mods on the Monster! As soon as Bellissimoto ships them to me i will install and post pics! I ordered a part that I dont want to talk about because i dont want to jinx the install. It might not fit or might not look good to begin with so we shall see!!!! Thanks everyone for all the support so far. Ill keep yall posted.

Dig the speedos! Where did you get those? That thing is SLICK!!

  • Jescati 11 months ago

Whoa. Just whoa. I haven't put any aftermarket exhaust on my bike yet because I can't figure out what I'm truly in love with... I think I found it! Love the instruments and headlight as well! Strabiliante!!

  • zitofuc2020 11 months ago

I had to join the site just so i could comment on this bike. The best monster i've ever seen! i love it! way to bridge the gap between the sport bike scene and the chopper crowd. Totally jealous that this isn't my bike. I'm getting ready to hopefully buy my first duc. All the ideas i had in my head rollin around and then BAM i see a pic of it. Good job bra!

I added more photos and also included the photo of the original gauge relocation - under the seat.

Totally addicting.... You'll replace one piece after another until one day you realize you've spent just as much on parts as you did the original bike! If not more! I now have three bikes with plans for two more... I did stop the tattoos though, so I'm saving money there :)

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

YES!!!!.... from all the labor hours that went into the bike between the fabrication and paint....i def went way past the price of the bike at MSRP lol. But i havent even thought twice about how much i have spent on my 3 ducati's. Why did you stop the tattoos!!!!! Please tell me you have Ducati as one of your tattoos! Is there a "post your tattoo" thread on this forum anywhere????

  • ZoFunny 11 months ago

I agree Its purely addicting. Watch out for those test rides too Last one i took ended with a Diavel, Now I need carbon , more carbon  and pipes, I need pipes, what about levers ....help

And that goes for everyone else that has posted as well!!

Now thats an honor! Which photo did you use? Yeah i dont mind at all man!

  • hppyml 11 months ago

wow - a lot of time went into that bike!  how long did it take to get to this unbelievable show quality?  (btw, I think I voted, but not sure, let me know if I need to do something different - you deserve to win)   :)

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

@hppyml- It took me a full year to get this thing up and running and looking the way it is. As for hours I have no idea on the exact hours but just the doing the paint job took me forever because i did the initial drawing a couple of times over on other plastic just so i could lock down a method to painting the actual pieces and keep the acrylic paint and ink smooth so there would be no bumps in the clear coat. It was a long process though but the outcome was perfect!! Thanks for the support!!!

  • zitofuc2020 11 months ago

Quoted from: ryandanger - "Now thats an honor! Which photo did you use? Yeah i dont mind at all man!"

I used the one showin off that big ol ass! the back right. Hey you got the specs on that swing arm or did you just wing it? I want to do the same thing on mine but probably only a 250 in back, yours is a 3 right?

  • zitofuc2020 11 months ago

Oh yeah now thats a great photo!! As for the specs, my boy Wayne is the one that fab'd the swingarm so he has the build specs exact measurements etc. But no we didnt wing it.. thats for sure. It is a 300 in the rear.

Ill have more detailed photos of the bike once the rest of the parts come in. Will grab up close pics of the welds etc on the swing arm.

  • zitofuc2020 11 months ago

LOL sorry bra i know something as critical as a swing arm can't be "winged" i meant did you two come up with the design or copy an already existing design? Does Wayne have a company where he makes these? i've looked for extended swing arms without much luck.

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

Oh i understand you now. hahahaha i was like"winged". Yeah you can find wayne here.....http://www.ransombikes.com/

I wanted  a similar style swing arm to his Serpent bike but that is still one off!

  • zitofuc2020 11 months ago

tell me about the paint too? it almost looks like you drew that on a piece of thin paper like plastic stuck it down and shot over it? am i close? lol

  • Author

No i prepped and painted and inked right on the plastic piece itself.

    Amature!?!?! :0

Vary sweet ;)   u stole my idea on fat rear and I now know I luv it thanks to you.  How does it handle, just curious.   Really nice details-makes me wanna stretch n slam one, but not the Beast because he would lose his fun on the track and forest hehe   nice job!!

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

@ Bella Hahaha im sorry i stole your idea ;) But im glad you like it! Thanks for the comps! It handles great but nothing like my 848 when it comes to cornering hard. I like your bike as well! Good luck in the competition! :) Maybe we will both make it to Indy. But im not sure i can compete with your bike with you on it. So im a little worried. :)

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

So let me ask this...does anyone think i should move into the professional side of the challenge? Because i have heard this from several people via email and FB. If so I dont mind going to that side but dont know how to move my bike over to it?

  • BellaDucati 11 months ago

meh-- if you qualified as Amature, you are where you need to be and did a kick-arse job.  I am of course bit torn from "the purist" side and my normal disdain of the stretch-n-slam, must admit it-BUT I can also appreciate the over-the-top imagination, creativity and skills it took to "Create your Monster"  hehe   As far as competing with me n the Beast, you have NO worries and we actually belong more in some class of competition, maybe something like "Women who actually RIDE their Monsters"   ;)     Good luck, but you don't need it and Ohh Yesss, truly hoping one way or another to meet you and a LOT of others at Indy (a girl can dream)

  • Arrick 11 months ago

@ryandanger, I advise you put yourself in the category you belong in according to the rules. If you are an amateur with no ties to the motorcycle business that would give you a competitive advantage, than leave yourself in this category. However, if you do feel you qualify as a professional, I will work on a solution for changing your category and starting your votes over.

All contestants should know that we will do our due diligence to ensure everyone is in the category they belong in before we reward any trips to Indy. If you are found to be in the wrong category when we award the semi-finalists, you will be disqualified.

Thanks arrick for the info....I do fit in all the guidelines for amatuer class because I do not work for anyone in the motorcycle business nor do I have any advantage over anyone else. Now I used a professional bike builder to do the chop but I'm just a customer like the others using bellisimoto to add their bolt-ons. The only advantage I have is that I'm a professional artist and have painted all my Ducats that I have owned. The reason I asked is that there are some great looking bikes in the comp but I've been told that my bike is out of this class. Ofcourse I want to be fare but I don't want to lose votes because I moved. A vote is a vote regardless.
  • kurtfriedrich 11 months ago

I had a concern that you listed "Wayne Ransom" in your bike title, which gives Wayne quite a plug, and then in your comments you say " Gotta give thanks to Wayne, Kevin, Edgar and Randy @ Belissimoto for helping me get all this together" which is a plug to them.  If either of these companies gave you a discount because they knew they were getting visability in this contest, then I think you should be Pro, but if you paid full price like anyone else, then it seems you are a fair and square Amatuer  (one crazy ass, talented amateur!).

If you are moved, I agree, you should carry your votes over with you.

  • kurtfriedrich 11 months ago

Arrick, its getting a bit late into this contest, do you think there are some Pro's out there that are still working on bikes and will enter them in the next 4 weeks?

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

Oh so now you bring this up?

Folks I am GUILTY here for having deep pockets and some good friends to help me create a pretty bad ass bike....let me break it down...Wayne took time out of his busy schedule to help weld up some pretty cool pieces for my bike. Kevin found a solution to clear my bike when i was having issues because of the ink that i used. Eddie was kind enough to come work with me on it out of my TOWN HOUSE garage when i needed and extra hand since i couldnt get it to his shop. And your probably asking well why couldnt i get it to his shop...well I lost my license testing the bike out at 147 mph. I was practically grounded for 6 months. So much for it being all show i guess. Lets not forget Randy now...I thank Randy because he provides a wonderful website with tons of great parts that i was able to buy from and ask him questions about fitment and other stuff. So i give everyone credit where credit is due. Nobody makes it on their own kid. You always have help from somewhere. With that being said...do you want me to break down the price list of what i paid? 7500 for the swing arm alone....3500 for the exhaust.... i came to the table with a 50k bike including bike, parts and labor. Even have the bike insured at this cost because i put in over a hundred hours by myself on the paint scheme alone. Come on son....you really want to do this right now?

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

Hey Kurt...you also listed Speedy moto and other companies as possible plugs for your bike? Did you get help tooooo? Maybe you should be a pro builder too.... I listed the Ransom parts because they are his custom one off pieces and Im proud to have that on my bike.... Im just saying bro....

  • kurtfriedrich 11 months ago

I think I already said, if you didn't get speical pricing, I for one fully support you as an amatuer.

    nuff said.

147 on the street?  you are lucky they didn't put you in the slammer and keep the bike, they do that in a lot of states.

  • dvd19 11 months ago

ryan you don't have to justify any thing, you did an awesome bike and you should be proud of it!  It stands out so much that people automatically think your a pro. You just have the skills and funds to create a beast! For my bike even if im listed as pro im no mechanic. I just like to take time and do things myself with some imagination and help from friends! only difference is i get discounted parts and i have a shop at my disposal.

Just pass by all the crap.

You would had been in the lead being in pro or amateur.

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

I understand that, but the fact that you bring this up now? But its cool man...im here to love everyone and respect everyone and am just along for the ride win or lose man. If you get more votes than i do...then hey more power to you brother....

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

okay that last comment was to Kurt...just want to make sure there is no hard feelings or any drama. I wanna have a good time thats all.

@dvd19...thanks man for the words!!!! I thinkg your right about the confusion. Besides....call it deep pockets or call it sacrifice....i sold alot of my guns to fund this and lost my wife to this i think. But appreciate all the support even from a fellow contestant.

  • Arrick 11 months ago

@ryandanger, it seems to me that your bike is in the right category. Because of this, I suggest you leave it there. Here is a quick explanation of why we would need to clear your votes of you were to move to the pro category: At the end of the day, “A vote is vote” is not really correct as some people may be more compelled to vote for a bike they feel is great for an amateur build, but more critical if it were labeled pro.

@kurtfriedrich, I have no indications as to whether any pros will come forth in the coming weeks. Only time will tell.

Good luck to everyone and I hope you are all having fun with this! As mentioned previously, we will investigate all of the semifinalists to ensure that their bikes comply with the rules before awarding any prizes.

  • Author
    ryandanger 11 months ago

@Arrick, .....Investigation.... :) Well just let me know...Im sure you can always contact Ransom Bikes in NJ to check the books along with Bellissimoto. If you want i can bring my receipts from my credit card statements / paypal transactions. I just want to make sure I comply with any of your requests.

@Arrick, you are probably annoyed with me already arent ya??...and we still have a whole month and two weeks to go :)

  • kurtfriedrich 11 months ago

You have such a good black theme going, have you thought about getting the pipes and cans black ceramic coated?

  • Arrick 11 months ago

Quoted from: ryandanger - "@Arrick, you are probably annoyed with me already arent ya??...and we still have a whole month and two weeks to go :)"

Not at all. I just want to ensure that EVERYONE is clear on the process. Unfortunately, this has all been brought up in your thread. I believe that everything should be clear to all parties at this point, so we can put this conversation to bed and get back to talking about your bike!

  • Author
    ryandanger 10 months ago

@Kurtfriedrich, yeah i see where your coming from but i personally like the wrapped look mixed with the metal...a little more industrial if thats the right word to use. But i might do the painted pipes it on another build. Im cooking up some ideas on what to do. Just gotta figure out how to pay for it all. Im thinking of working the corners a couple nights a week from here on out. lol

@arrick, yeah good call...lets change the subject :) So lets talk about your bike!! You gonna bring it to Indy and display it. I plan on going there regardless of the comp but would love to see your bike in person!!!

  • Greggon 10 months ago

    Incredible work!

    congrats. It's really impressive!

I'd like to see it in real! It's just incredible.

  • Arrick 10 months ago

@ryandanger, My bike will be at both Laguna and Indy. I look forward to meeting you there.

  • BellaDucati 10 months ago

anyone wanna start a Charity Fund Pot to get Bella and the Beast to one or both events ;)

  • Author
    ryandanger 10 months ago

@Greggon, Thanks! Not sure where your from but if you get around the DC area you can find me riding around on it. Ill be more than happy to slow down and let you see it.

@Arrick, NOt sure if ill get there with my bike if i dont get enough votes but I will def come. Besides your like a celebrity so im gonna have to ask for your autograph and get a picture with your bike!! Sorry im not trying to blow up your ego here.

@BellaDucati, Hahahaha charity fund...good thinking. Well Bella since im in the political scene now and campaigning for votes maybe i can help you out but you need to vote for me first. But then I might not be able to full fill that obligation because you know...im a politician now. JK...bad joke huh. ;)  Oh wait your a politician as well. We are in the same challenge...How about VOTE FOR Danger/Bella '11!!!!  We can campaign together and try to get to Indy. That will possibly take care of one trip. If you agree we will need more pictures of your feet on the bike in order to generate mass sex appeal and grab the male voters!

  • taknotts 10 months ago

I really don't know how any of the other bikes even get votes...  this is the sickest custom bike I've ever seen.  Everybody does hogs and even sport bikes now.  But to take a Duc in this direction is like exploratory surgery...   KuDoS to You...

  • Author
    ryandanger 10 months ago

@taknotts, I appreciate the comps on the bike but there is no need to put my other fellow Ducati riders down like that. There are some really great bikes in this competition and alot of people have put in some hard work and love there purist look and have kept the performance  aspects of the bike up to par for the track unlike myself. I understand everyone has there opinion but please express them tastefully.

  • EvilWizard 10 months ago

Its a sick looking bike man. Hope you win this thing!

  • kurtfriedrich 10 months ago

I wouldn't call it exploratory surgery, much more like very successful plastic surgery.  As for performance, thinking this would not be so good for a road course, but if you start messing with the engine that extended rear end and tire size should make for a hell of a drag bike.

EPIC BIKE! Did you built all the kickass things yourself... exhaust, swing arm, gauges etc?

  • Author
    ryandanger 9 months ago

@skyshadow, Thanks man! No i def didnt build it myself. Im am just an artist local to the DC area so i linked up with Wayne Ransom in Atlantic City to do all my metal fabrication etc. Cost me an arm and a leg but its exclusive for my taste.  I did the art on the bike myself though. Ofcourse added the standard bolt ons....easy enough to do myself. But yes i def had help with this one.

  • Skyshadow 9 months ago

@ryandanger, Still amazing. I am a fabricator in SoCal and your bike has definitely given me a lot of ideas/inspiration. I work with tubing for baja and off road trucks mostly but I'm going to put my talents into my M750 dark. I have this cool new way of bending/shaping tubing (or at least i think its cool lol) and I'm going to use it to make a new type of pod filters. Going to be a while before I have it complete, I have to re-position the carbs, but I'll definitely post it when I'm done or closer.

  • 2vtwin 9 months ago

@skyshadow, it really makes me appreciate the setup that i did when the bike inspires people like yourself to get more creative. That makes me feel like the build was sucessful. Thanks for that feedback bro! Good luck with your build and i will be following you to see what you come up with!

Congratulations.  I believe you won in great style.  Your bike really leads the pack in what I believe was the true heart of this competition.  Customization.  There are others that are really nice but this bike has broken barriers that haven't even been touched on reality TV...  You can now fit in with everyone...   Cruisers at 1:00 then Sportbikes at 6:00...lol    Now off to Indy...
